19 sounds like a good number to me, but I guess it all depends on how you are promoting them and how much you make from each sponsor, if you don't make many sales it will take ages before you recieves checks from all of them.

I have 40 active sponsors myself, mainly FHG sponsors for my TGPs, most of them are CCBill sponsors merged under one CCBill account so it's still easy to keep track on sales and payments.

The most important thing is not to keep all you eggs in one basket, if one sponsor suddenly turns to shit or quits you better have something to replace them with.
