The report was carried earlier on MSNBC with the CEO of Vivid debunking most of it pretty well
The report that they base this on is by a new "think tank" which is actually a political action group that some democrats have formed to try to form a viable third party - thus the name is the Third Party - its trying to swing some democrats to the middle road by labelling them "progressives" in an attempt to get rid of the liberal label that the media has put on democrats.
This bill has as much chance of making it out of committee as a bill honoring Osama B Laden - no congressman in their right mind (especially the conservatives that rule the congress right now) are going to allow porn to be made a legitimate biz entity. Its also a (if a tax were ever really passed) an excise tax - which means that the tax would be on the consumer
