A site on the server the gallery was on got hit hard by some kind of dos attack. Still trying to find out how the fuck they were doing it - logs are downloading. htaccess cured it but not for about 36 hours when I finally relaised. Hun removed the gallery from his list as I presume it wasn't loading too well most of the time.
Moral of the story is don't forget your htaccess when you put a site up/move it.
