My bill for one month was almost $400, so I tried the no air thing for about an hour! I thought that by living right on the ocean and having the breeze all the time would be ok, but I keep my air set at about 82-84 and I'd die without it.
In 1995 in Chicago, something like 700 people died due to the heat, so it can get pretty serious if you are not used to it.
