I had a design I was working on about a year ago, wasn't happy with the interface I had made, liked the rest of the design so decided to hire another designer to design the interface - i'd heard good things about Blue Design so looked at their portfolio and was impressed with most of it - so hired them to do the interface for $350. What I got back was a piece of shit, asked them to do better, got back only a slightly better piece of shit - i'd seen enough, i knew my job had been handed off to some minimum wage outsourced labor and just paid the $350 and threw the interface where it belonged.

when you hire a design company - make sure you get it understood upfront WHO is going to work on your project - if there's a design in the portfolio you like then request that that designer be the one who does your job.
