Just because
http://www.google.com/ig is PR8 does not mean that the rss links to your blog will have any benefit... The linked to pages will not be indexed as having a PR8 inbound link... GoogleBot will not login as your ID, check your customized home page, and then crawl it as if it were a normal page.
