Too right...you americans should take a very close look at what is happening in your country. Things like the Patriot act and all this other stuff that is just aimed at repressing the people more and more are very scary.
About 2 weeks ago the congress here (chavez dominated) passed a law forbidding any type of public demonstration against government officials.
That means that you cannot even "boo" at a government official or you will go to jail
They also passed a law aimed at controlling the media.No "inappropriate" or violent content may be shown during the day on TV.Of course,inappropriate means any sort of public demonstrations or protests. Chavez`s popularity took a hard hit in february when during demonstrations agains his government the media filmed a lot of repression and violence.There were 18 people killed and many more wounded by the army and Chavez supporters.Of course , noone has gone to jail for this.
