I have about $4K that I've had for years because I was always worried my son (or someone) might need bail money. I still keep it and dip into it when I need cash and the banks are closed and then I add back later.
Now I figure if there's ever a banking emergency that will give me a months worth of necessities to cover.
I know one webmaster who used to keep $$$ in his freezer (and the old timers will know who I'm talking about

Anyone else keep emergency cash stashed away? How much? And more importantly, where exactly is it (address, where the extra key is hidden, where it is in the house, etc.
)?
