Black people have a problem white people don't have: Since sometimes they are screwed over because they are black, whenever anything bad happens, they have to suspect racism is behind it.
In this case, what they don't realize is that what is at work against them isn't racism, it's greed. The record companies want to make the most money with the smallest outlay. To this end, they work every legal angle and cheat like crazy. However, they love money so much they are equal opportunity bastards: they cheat the white artists every chance they get, too. It just may be that white people are more in tune with the business world than the blacks are by having a head start, so they can get cheated less.
However, anyone who expects a for-profit business to be run like a charity is naive in the extreme.
