Some of the best resturants I have ever been to have served food prepared by Amish and/or menonite cooks. Amish women go into Reading Terminal Market in Philly and sell their food all the time. I grew up not too far from Lancaster, PA so perhaps you just aren't familiar with how good Amish food can be. Of course I am PA Dutch and highly biased. Bring on the shoofly pie!
