Yeah this scared this shit outta me cuz I'm pretty much alone. My kids are sound asleep. They would have woken up to a dead mother on the floor. Nice eh?
I heard a story a long time ago about a new bride. Just got married and they were at the reception... did the whole cake thing and she started to choke a little and quickly excused herself. She discreetly bolted off into a back room of the church and DIED!!! Talk about horrific... eesh

We all like to joke around, but actually posting such info, even in GFY just could save a life. I was a Boy Scout when I was a kid, received additional first aid and emergency training in the military and I also did volunteer work for the Red Cross for many years - the training has proven to be invaluable so many times.
I have helped people many times in emergencies. For example, I always carry a fire extinguisher in my car, and three times I have used one to put out another person's engine fire.
When I was a manager during my corporate years, I made it a point to have quarterly safety meetings, to make sure everyone knew what to do in the case of fire or an earthquake, and everyone was trained in CPR. Hopefully you never have to use such training, but it is invaluable should an emergency situation arise.
I have no idea why they don't teach more of this in the schools. Probably the same reason they don't teach kids other basic survival techniques such as how to balance a check book and manage money.
