The world is the way it is today because people choose to be complacent or are just to afraid to say whats on there mind. We listen to everything the media and the govt tells us and we somehow find a way to ignore any doubt that we might feel or question anything that seems out of place. It's ironic that we (the US) try to spread democracy throughout the world when at home the powerful elite try to move us into an empirical state.

Too add to your comments about China, what amuses me the most is that as consumers of so many products coming from China these days, we are essentially funding our long-term demise. Maybe not for another 100 years or so, but start teaching your next generations Chinese.....
