gary, do you have a boot floppy? try booting
off of that....i've been there, and ended
up wiping 2 years worth of work as well, not
fun...one thing to think about.
if you have another disk that you don't
care about, but works, pull the old one
out, install new os on new disk, put
other disk in as secondary, copy data you
want to keep, then switch and reinstall,
just make sure you don't select the 2nd
disk for format....
and run 2k or even xp. unless you game
a lot, then roll it back to 98 SE....t
