IMHO, it has nothing to do with the number of pages on the tour. The comment made was that every page that you make the surfer wait to find a join link, you are going to lose a % of your buyers.
I highly doubt you have as much traffic on page 15, 20, or 30 as you do on page 1. The people on those pages are jacking off to your samples.
