He lost all his money, because he put it in a foreign bank account - in Panama - when the rules changed there - so did his bank balance - from millions to zero.
I don't know what the rules are in Canada, but here in the states - you can't open accounts in fake names - or use a fake SSN without commiting another crime.
Paying taxes sucks ass. In the US - if you are self employed - the amount you make between like 60 and 80K is taxed at more than 50% depending on the state you live in. (yes I know some countries are worse).
NOT paying taxes and going to jail is probably worse though.
Chances are - they wouldn't put you in jail, but by the time they found out - you would owe a ton in interest and penalties. At least that is hoow it works in the US. Sometimes it takes YEARS - I just got a notice for my 2000 taxes that they thought I owed them more money for blah, blah, blah...
You'll sleep better at night anyway...
