years ago I use 2 do work at one place in Watts, I had to be out of there by 11:30 even if the job wasn't finished, always another day.. The owners (armed) would walk me out to my truck and watch me drive off.. Sometimes they would throw rocks at my truck, after I got 1/2 to 1 block away.
Oh the owners didn't throw rocks at me, other people did
