The US does not have anything to lose from N Korea.. its a regional issue, not a global issue. That is why China, Russia, Japan and Korea have been taking the lead roles in dealing with them. N Korea does not have missiles that can even reach the US and the local governments have more influence over N Korea and stronger ties - and N Korea wants the US to participate only to continue blackmailing the US into feeding them and sending them oil. The US is trying to stay out of it so that they cannot continue their blackmail scam. Thats they only reason they need nuclear weapons to begin with... not for defense or offense, but for blackmailing the world into propping up their failed Stalinist regime with more aid.
