If China made a move on Taiwan, I doubt America would use military force against China. America can't afford the consequences.

I think there would be a lot of talk and political rhetoric, maybe America would give Taiwan some weapons to help it fight off China, but I don't see America getting militarily involved, the consequences are just too great.

I think whether America would ultimately "win" in the end is irrelevant. I don't think the average American is willing to suffer the consequences of such a war just to ensure Taiwan's independence.
