Every single one of these technologies suck by todays standards.

HST was introduced in 1986 by US Robotics and was the de facto standard for BBS's before V.32 modems, theoriginal Courier HST modem ran at 9600 bps, and then was later improved to 14400 bps.

PEP was introduced in 1985 and was the de facto standard for Unix and Usenet communities. PEP performed well with noisy phone lines and ran 14400 bps.

v.32 is the CCITT standard for 9600 and 4800 bps modems, and is today the standard for communication at those speeds.

V.fast is a newer CCITT standard that supported 28800 bps communications

If I was forced ot use any one of these technologies for an extended period of time as my only means of access to the internet, I would kill myself.

Do I win a prize?
