While the DVX image is better than other small DV cameras it is only for people who want to shoot using manual settings. The auto white balance absolutely does not work and the auto iris is slow and sometimes has obvious shifts.

Also, in progressive mode the autofocus is much slower because the refresh rate is half that of an interlaced camera.

So of you are going to shoot girls in low light at a wet t-shirt contest at club use the Vx2100 or some other DV camera. If you are shooting in a controlled setting then the DVX using manual white balance and iris will give you far superiour results. The auto focus is fine as long as you keep the lens wide and you do not move around too fast. Also, you need to keep your pans a little slower when shooting in progressive so there is not motion studder.
