That's what I think a lot of people don't think of...once an offender has served time for sexual abuse, and they get out, their next victim is more likely to wind up dead, because they don't want to leave a witness to send them BACK to prison.

You definitely have a point, but... tomorrow's pedo's are today's victims. It's definitely sad, but if a kid is abducted, raped and killed - it ends there... but if they are abused by a friend or relative all their childhood, when they grow up, they can become the next child sexual offender -- who may become the next stranger pedophile killer.
So if you really want to eliminate the stranger abductions, you need to eliminate the familial sexual abuse first! Sure, lock your doors and do your due diligence as much as possible to prevent abductions. And don't trust every "nice" adult person who wants to spend time with your kids!
