Never gotten it by email but I work parttime for a brokerage firm and we probably get one like that faxed or mailed to us at least once a week. Our compliance protocols force us to contact the SEC every time we get one. The feds are well aware of it but they always ask to forward it to them, especially the hard copy version as that is considered postal fraud.
We were told they are working to rectify (i like that word) the situation. However, in my opinion, they pretty much have their hands tied with all the new corporate scandals.
