Or how about keeping an open dialogue about predators so that if they ARE victimized once, they come to you and tell you right away instead of believing the predators lies of killing the entire family if they tell?

Those are good suggestions...
...but you really can't argue that "stranger danger" isn't a real (and growing) threat, and stranger abductions are WAY more likely to end with the child's death.
That's what I think a lot of people don't think of...once an offender has served time for sexual abuse, and they get out, their next victim is more likely to wind up dead, because they don't want to leave a witness to send them BACK to prison.
