Uh folks....
Most of the sex crimes committed against children are from FAMILY MEMBERS or CLOSE FRIENDS of the family. Sure, there are a percentage of stranger-abductions and those are the ones all these laws are out to help with. But pedo's start victimizing the people they KNOW and can CHARM.
So, if you really want to protect your kids, how about making sure they are never alone with creepy "Uncle Marvin"? Or how about keeping an open dialogue about predators so that if they ARE victimized once, they come to you and tell you right away instead of believing the predators lies of killing the entire family if they tell?
