jack, what you described is exactly what is going on.

FSC has been very effective in fighting on issues that you described. The California legislature does consult with FSC on proposed laws, statutes, and amendments that affect the adult biz, because better to get the input upfront, then end up going to court with FSC. Ths is one clear example of where the adult biz does have representation.

Some State Attorney General offices, field FBI offices, and federal FBI offices are aware of ASACP and its efforts to support them to find the bad guys.

ASACP has accomodation letters from the FBI, see joan at internext and she can show you.

Without an organized and concerted effort to present a consistant message that FSC and ASACP provides, then it is (hate to you use the cliche), like herding cats, to mobilize individual webmasters to do something.

and i speak from experience on this, in the Acacia effort.. something as sinister as Acacia to the adult biz, did not unify, rather it divided the industry to those who settled, those who are fighting it, and those who do nothing and don't even support those that are fighting them through financial contributions and through sending of business.

ideology is great when you have the convenience of time and comfort, but activism means doing something to make a change.

"think globally, act locally" is a great slogan, but it has been mimimized by the internet, that you can affect global issues locally, that benefit locally.

it completely escapes me the many threads and posts about people not wanting to join/support FSC and ASACP... who don't unite under some direction or cause that looks after their interests, but yet will complain.

fortunately, there are many businesses who do understand and who to provide their support to both organizations...

i would ask anyone who has built up any (what i believe) misunderstandsings or misconceptions about FSC or ASACP to actually talk to the executive directors or people associated with it to get the facts, not the chatter, gossip, or misinformation that abounds.
