Our system is supported by our taxes, but from the perspective of Canadians I can assure you if I were to walk into the ER of the nearest hospital this morning and complain of chest pain two things would happen. First, I would be taken in right away, I would be given a battery of tests and treatments, and I wouldn't be sent home until they are sure I am fit to do so. Secondly, there would be no bill. No $20k, no 20% of the bill payable by me, no nothing except a well-wish and a goodbye mr Smith.
Some of you Americans who are idiots really have a boned up view on what amounts to a pretty great thing in Canada, the UK and a few other countries. The really stupid thing here is that you'll return to this thread and actually argue with me, a Canadian, about a system you obviously have never even experienced first-hand.

we have free healthcare here in california for the poor. this small % of californias overall population already clogs the emergency rooms with bullshit, im sure canada is the same. anytime somethings "free" its abused, and usually not by the people who pay the most into it.
