In the same breath you say we're lazy fucks who can't afford health insurance and you say our taxes are huge. If we can afford huge taxes then which is it? Are we broke or are we paying high taxes?
Our system is supported by our taxes, but from the perspective of Canadians I can assure you if I were to walk into the ER of the nearest hospital this morning and complain of chest pain two things would happen. First, I would be taken in right away, I would be given a battery of tests and treatments, and I wouldn't be sent home until they are sure I am fit to do so. Secondly, there would be no bill. No $20k, no 20% of the bill payable by me, no nothing except a well-wish and a goodbye mr Smith.
Some of you Americans who are idiots really have a boned up view on what amounts to a pretty great thing in Canada, the UK and a few other countries. The really stupid thing here is that you'll return to this thread and actually argue with me, a Canadian, about a system you obviously have never even experienced first-hand.
