Spend the extra money on the proper "L" lenses for the 20d and shoot away. Then when you want to move up to the 1ds you will have all the lenses already. We have over $15k invested in lenses plus another 7k for the 1ds body, and since the 1ds shoots 90 meg raw images you will need alot of storage for them, so it can get expensive. But its nice to have multiple cameras that the expensive lenses fit.
