if you think people 'hunt [them] down', you are sorely mistaken. one of the most popular pastimes for hentai folk is to touch women on crowded public transport. those who engage in this practice are called 'chikanu'. girls are taught that the appropriate response to being touched is to alert those around you to the fact that you are being touched, which will result in them staring at the culprit with disdain, which will in turn prompt him to cease the touching and get off at the next stop to avoid the shaming gazes. in other words, the exact opposite of 'hunting down' is practiced in japan.
