I have used Skype many times. The sound quality is terrific, and the delay is mostly negligable. During general high-load on the net the connection might disappear for a few seconds, but otherwise it's a bingo.
Especially for me, located in India with all my family in Europe; this app is a winner.
EDIT: I wouldn't recommend it for professional usage when reliablity is paramount. But in all other connections, when low-price and 98% uptime is enough, it's great.Last edited by dapproid; 08-16-2004, 10:46 PM. -

fyi, Skype is run by same ppl as Kazaa. so is there Spy/Scum ware? up to you to find out if it matters. is there a security threat? most hardcore skype users are Gamers and lots of them buy a cheap PC, almost bareboned to run skype and only skype. I like it, but I also bought a cheap $99 pc just for skype. just in case... because of the horror stories I've heard. nuff said.Comment
