These people will give you a credit card, they specialize in post-bankruptcy/distressed credit cases. It will likely have a $500 limit, make sure you max it and pay it off every month. It will also have some sort of fee to get it, in the $100 range, which is the price you have to pay for the situation you're in. No bitching.

Another way to improve your credit is to make absolutely sure you have no outstanding collections on any of the three major credit reporting agencies (Experian, Equifax, and Trans Union). Get a copy of your credit report, preferably from the three agencies directly, and check it for unpaid debts/collections. You'd be surprised at how things find their way on there...
