Starting when? Assuming that a person lost their virginity in their late teens? I figure that a person who is 26 (sexually active for 10 years) could reasonably have had 10 partners, averaging one a year but obviously counting the odd one night stand here and there. The thing of paramount importance is always the need for safe sex. You could have 100 partners and it shouldn't matter as long as its always been safe sex and the person has stayed clean and healthy.

A bit long and drawn out but you get my meaning.
