I have never, in my 5 years of running sites had a host as consistantly bad at customer support as CandidHosting. They were 3 weeks late setting up my server. I had to call 3 times to get my billing corrected after that. I wanted to get 13 domains with unique IP#s added to their nameserver ( I admin my own server and add my own sites, all they had to do was add them to their nameserver and give me the IP#s), that took over a week and 7 phone calls. Now some of the 13 domains seem to disappear from their nameserver every few days. I was hosting those 13 domains for my brother-in law for free, he decided that it was better to pay for hosting elsewhere than to stay with Candid for free. If you need anything done on a weekend you can forget it. Now I have 6 months left on my contract with them ( if you want a dedicated server you have to sign a 1 year contract) and I just can't bring myself to go another round with their tech support to get anything done.
Don't think that I'm just a trouble maker trying to give them a bad name. I've been with another host ( Conepuppy cyberwurx.com ) for about 4 years and have nothing but good things to say about them. Oh, and after all my problems with Candid they decided to give me a free month for all my headaches. I even reminded the salesman for them not to bill my account that month and they still did. All I can say is I hope your experiences with Candidhosting are better than mine. Their one saving grace is that the server did stay up, albeit minus a domain or 2 from their nameserver. I have 6 months left on my contract and they have told me that they plan on holding me to it.
