I started doing the math on what i was spending per month and if i lived to 90 or 100 and factored in inflation. It adds up quick over a 60 year period.
What cost $2000000 in 1940 would cost $26614190.65 in 2005.
Also, if you were to buy exactly the same products in 2005 and 1940,
they would cost you $2000000 and $150295.76 respectively.
