No question. The people speaking up most vocally in a negative way, including personal attacks, are the ones driving a significant portion of their monthly income simply from spamming a message board. That alone speaks volumes to the issue.

It's one thing in say CD_Smith's case, where he runs contests (trivia questions for prizes), helps new webmasters maximize their revenue with personal help, and is a genuine BENEFIT to a sponsor on GFY. He's a perfect example of how in a perfect world, sponsored sigs would be an asset.

But for every CD_Smith there are ten jackasses here posting "thumbs up" in every thread simply to qualify for some idiotic sponsor prize. That's the real issue.
