The base i'm refering to is mainly the cultural difference between the two societies and administrations. I wasnt here in london when the ramp up to the iraqi invasion was going on. But i dont think it was done in a massive media campaign of contrived patriotism and fear to get the public to go along with it.
From what i saw back then it appeared most of the public was against sending troops but Blair just pulled the right strings and made it happen anyway. The majority of the US public just ate it all up...the WMD's..yellow cake uranium from Nigeria...Al quaida meeting with Sadaam Hussien etc
What i mean is i just dont that it could happen here in the UK for a few reasons...i mean public support for it based on BS that is believed out of fear and getting amped on patriotism.
