Time is a notion created by man (so is god btw). That means time does not exist in the universe in any kind of physical sense. This type of question, "Did time have a beginning?" can have many different answers depending on whether one chooses to answer it scientifically or philosophically. Time is a construct we use to define our existence and make sense of the universe. Scientists will tell you time as we know it, started with the big bang. Philosophers will tell you there is no such thing as time, except as a construct defined by our species. They're both right.
