Right. A 4 - 2 exhaust is for midrange power - ideal on customs and tourers as they don't have any agility.
A 4 - 1 is for top end power good for race bikes and nowt else.

The best thing you could do is to get your exhaust welded back to standard - sorry bro but that's the truth...

If you really want to persist with the CBR6 end can, then you'll have to get the hole you've made welded up, a Dynojet kit and a shop with a dynomometer to set it up properly - all that will cost a lot more than you've bargained for (my last dyno setup cost £160).
