1) Why do so many companies lie/brag about how many joins a day? Is this a marketing tactic to get affiliates? The reason I ask is that it seems that the companies that lie about their joins/day, are the ones that go out of business quick. It doesn't seem this marketing tactic works.
Marketing tacitc? unlikely, its human nature to lie/brag and make themselfs self importent and stand out from the others.
2) In mainstream, I prefer to go with companies not doing much business from affiliates. Why enter a market that is oversaturated? If a company is doing 300 joins/day, it means that their product is everywhere. I know it also means they convert with good sites, but it seems there are times that you see too much of a site out there.
People like to follow others that are successful, hence all the tgps.
3) ... I've heard companies like Top Bucks and Nasty Dollars are very succesful and great sponsors. They also don't seem to be on the boards bragging about stuff or ripping on webmasters...
They are professional.
