Sorry I have not ever heard of something that will call you on a plane when your server goes down. Not saying it does not exist but I bet most programs do not have anything like this hooked up.
I dont know the details but if it was a one time thing IE check got lost in the mail I would not expect a host to kill his whole program over a long weekend.
