I might as well jump in here and give some facts. I live in China and there is a major drug problem particularly amongst 15-25 year old clubbers taking E, Ketamine and ice. You can be sure that the 64 people executed were definitely caught red-handed in a factory manufacturing one or more of these drugs. There would have been no doubt about their innocence and the trials are monitored by human rights groups. The fact is China has a zero tolerance policy towards drug dealers, as do several other Asian countries. It doesn't matter what passport you are carrying, if you get caught in Malaysia with even a small amount of drugs on you, then you will either face the death penalty or life in prison.
It seems most people here agree that convicted dealers should be executed, I just don't see why some of you immediately assume it was a kangaroo court and these people could have been innocent.
Considering they probably earn in the region of US$20 a month the lure of selling drugs is a hard one to resist.
