I think it's a mix of nature and nurture
you will see some men that are extremely camp and feminin in all manerism, that is probably just nature, then there's the muscle maries, the trucker dikes and the lipstick lesbians, bisexuals etc. etc.
Think it can't be said in general whay people are how they are, nature plays a big part of who we are, but then so does our environment and friends, interests etc.
You would have to look at individual cases to be able to tell for sure
