People are people no matter where you go. American's think we are the moral beacon of the world? So does everybody else. If I am not correct, I do believe that we were attacked recently by a group of people that thought THEY were the moral beacons of the world. It sounds like alot of the anti-american speech here is no more than people shining their moral beacons themselves.

To claim that American's thrive and exist soley on the work of others is true. Einstein himself said he was only considered a genius because he stood on the shoulders of giants. All of his work was based on the existance of others peoples work. Everyone's is.

People are people no matter where you go.

I fail to believe that the rest of the world is so much more enlightened.

The analogy of sports comes to mind in this matter. Arguably, America is the top nation in many catagories. Just like in sports, people aim to defeat the best team. Americans are targeted by everyone in the world arena because everyone wants to be top dog.
