one of my extended family members was in prison and he said it wasn't extremely apparent, there was a certain group of people who resorted to it, but he didn't make it sound like it happened to everyone.
of course he's a pretty big mofo, so maybe they never got close for fear of dying...
i'm sure it also depends on the level of security in the prison and location. i'm sure if it's high security the guys are a lot more hardcore and like the whole domination better (not to mention it's a hole to stick their dick in..)
