Sure am. That doesn't mean that is going to happen, but they do have the right to tax you for up to 10 years if they think you are denouncing your citizen ship to avoid paying taxes. THEY OWN US. Sheesh.. never thought it was a never-ending chase for taxes.
I remember one US guy who ended up living in South Africa for decades. Some of his best friends worked at the US Embassy in SA and they chatted regularly.
One day they decided to take the new members of the family to meet the remaining one's and flew back to the US for a vacation. The moment the plane landed this old guy was arrested and thrown in jail re "tax evasion".
Turns out his "friends" in the Embassy pre-warned of his US visit and the flight details :-) Real nice to have friends like that!!! :-)
