As stated above I was incorrect in the actual charges. They got arrested because they mouthed off to the police. I still do not see why they got charged with resisting arrest when there was no reason to arrest them. According to my lawyer they will most likely get a plea deal to public intoxication or drunk and disorderly and will only pay a fine if that.
The state police have the city police report but because it was on a highway they had to do their own investigation.
Both the state and city cops I talked to agree that the guy running across the hiway was his own choice.
I do feel bad this guy made this choice and lost his life for this little bit of money. If he really needed the money or a drink he could have asked and we most likely would have given it to him.
Every day people make choices that effect their lives. Sometimes the choices made are met with disasterous results. I feel for this guys family and am sorry this happened.
