I don't think something like that is worth confronting someone over. I'm generally too polite and shy to even say anything. However, I can go from overly polite to antisocial in 1 second. I wouldn't WANT to talk to someone who disrespected my boyfriend, so I'd walk away and comment to my boyfriend what a jerk that person was. I wouldn't sit there and have a conversation with someone who was rude to my boyfriend. Walking away and not giving someone the time of day is more considerate to your boyfriend than causing a scene.
