Yeah -- it's one thing to be forced onto .XXX -- which would make a "ghetto" of Adult, and expose us to being "cut-off" from the Legitimate Internet at any moment.
But, the truth is, it looks like .XXX is going to at least exist -- that doesn't bother me, so long as nobody is telling me I have to go live there.
I think we had to say "BAD, BAD, BAD .XXX" to defeat a compulsory evacuation of Adult to that TLD. But, remove that threat, and what's left but some form of
opportunity, which you mau decide is attractive to you or not. BTW, there's another pre-registry available for anyone who doesn't want to patronize that ICM-sanctioned one --
