While definately tragic, and a terrible loss for her friend's and family I'd have to agree with some of the points made above.
100's of people go missing in this country, and go unreported or do not garner this much attention. That boy in Idaho was missing for how long? Thank God he was found, but his story in most of the news was like story 5 or later.
We are spending a ton of money to look for a girl that by most people with any sense is probably deceased by now. If these kids knew where she was, and after hearing about the conditions in the Aruba jail, I am sure they would have said something by now.
One other point, what absolutely annoys me to no end is we go barging into a soveirgn country, and start getting all up their ass, threatening to sue them, and so forth. No wonder the US has so many fans around the world.
I'm not saying we can't offer help, and so on, but from most of the news reporting I've been able to actually sit through on this, we are all in Aruba's ass over this. They have their own legal system, their own processes, and ways of dealing with shit. While I understand the family's position, I am stunned when people think we should actually expect another country to conform to our ways.
