No lie at all. I was working as a programmer and have a lot of friends who are still earning with coding. No one of them has a salary less than $2500 a month. For example, my the salary brother (he is a programmer in some IBM-related company) is $4,5K EURO a month. That's is a fact but not a lie. May be you don't have any friend among programmers, or those "programmers" you know are not the real one (have no appropriate degree or so...) As about lots of poor people... Did you were in the USA? In the NY for instance?.. Just walk a few quarters away from Manhattan and look around... And what's about the US majority who lives outside of the big cities (I mean one-storied America) say in Kansas? Do you know how "rich" they are?
